Raid Roles
Configure role requirements and let members select their roles for raids.
Overview
Many games require specific roles in group content—tanks to absorb damage, healers to keep the team alive, and DPS to deal damage. The raid roles system lets you define what roles you need and lets members sign up for specific positions.
Why Use Raid Roles?
- Know at a glance if you have enough tanks/healers
- Members commit to specific responsibilities
- Avoid last-minute "who's healing?" confusion
- Balance your group composition before the raid
Default Role Templates
Common role setups are available as templates:
MMO Trinity
Classic tank/healer/DPS setup for most MMOs
Destiny Raid
Class-based roles for Destiny 2 content
No Roles
For casual content or games without role requirements
Creating Custom Roles
Create roles specific to your needs:
- 1Click "Add Role"
In the raid creation or edit screen.
- 2Name the Role
Example: "Main Tank", "Off-Tank", "Ranged DPS"
- 3Set Slot Count
How many of this role you need (e.g., 2 tanks, 4 healers)
- 4Choose Color (Optional)
Visual identifier for the role in signup lists.
Setting Role Requirements
For each raid, define your composition:
Example: 10-Player Raid
Note
How Members Select Roles
When signing up for a raid with roles:
- Member clicks to sign up
- A role selection appears showing available roles
- Member picks their preferred role
- They're added to that role's slot (or waitlist if full)
Members can indicate multiple roles they're willing to play if you enable "flex" signups.
Role Composition View
The raid page shows role status at a glance:
Green = filled, Orange = almost full, Red = missing critical roles
Managing Role Assignments
Raid organizers can:
Reassign Roles
Move a member from one role to another if they can flex.
Adjust Slots
Change how many of each role you need mid-signup.
Lock Roles
Prevent signups for a specific role once filled.
Request Specific Member
Ping a member to sign up for a needed role.
Best Practices
Tank/Healer/DPS works for most content. Don't overcomplicate.
For members who can play multiple roles as needed.
Reuse your role setup for recurring raids of the same type.
Put gear/experience requirements in the raid description.
