Creating a Tournament

Step-by-step guide to setting up your first tournament on ReadyRaider.

Before You Start

To create a tournament, you'll need:

  • A ReadyRaider account (free to create)
  • Optional: A Squad or Organization to host the tournament under

Step 1: Start Creating

Navigate to the Tournaments page and click the "Create Tournament" button. You can also create tournaments from your Dashboard or your Organization's page.

Quick tip: Tournaments created under an Organization will display the Organization's branding and appear on their public page.

Step 2: Basic Information

Fill in the essential details for your tournament:

Tournament Name

Choose a memorable name that describes your event. Example: "Weekly Valorant Friday Night Fight"

Game

Select the game your tournament is for. This helps players find your event.

Description

Provide details about your tournament—rules, prizes, requirements, etc.

Cover Image

Upload a banner image to make your tournament stand out. Recommended size: 1200x400 pixels.

Step 3: Tournament Format

Choose how your tournament will be structured:

Single Elimination

One loss and you're out. Fast-paced, perfect for quick events.

Double Elimination

Players get a second chance through the losers bracket. More competitive.

Round Robin

Everyone plays everyone. Best for smaller groups where fairness matters.

Step 4: Schedule & Registration

Set when your tournament takes place and how players can join:

Start Date & Time

When the tournament begins. Make sure to account for different time zones.

Registration Type

  • Open: Anyone can register
  • Invite Only: Only invited players can join
  • Approval Required: You approve each registration

Max Participants

Set a cap on how many players or teams can join. Leave blank for unlimited.

Check-in Window (Optional)

Require participants to check in before the tournament starts. Those who don't check in are removed from the bracket.

Step 5: Review & Create

Review all your settings and click "Create Tournament". Your tournament will be created in draft mode, allowing you to make changes before publishing.

Tip

You can always edit tournament settings until the tournament starts. After it begins, some settings become locked.
