Managing Participants

Add, remove, and organize tournament participants before and during your event.

Overview

Participants are the players or teams competing in your tournament. How you manage them depends on your registration settings and tournament status.

Registration Types

Open Registration

Anyone can register for your tournament. Best for public events where you want maximum participation.

Invite Only

Only players you invite can join. Perfect for private or invitation-based competitions.

Approval Required

Players request to join, and you approve or deny each registration. Good for curated events.

Adding Participants

There are several ways participants can join your tournament:

Self-Registration

Players click "Register" on your tournament page. They'll appear in your participant list automatically (or pending approval if required).

Manual Add

From the tournament management page, click "Add Participant" and search for users by username. You can also add placeholder names for offline participants.

Invite Links

Generate a unique invite link to share with players. Anyone with the link can register directly (bypassing invite-only restrictions if you choose).

Solo vs Team Tournaments

Solo (1v1)

  • • Individual players register
  • • Each player is their own entry
  • • Simpler management

Team-Based

  • • Squads or ad-hoc teams register
  • • Team captain manages roster
  • • Specify team size requirements

Note

For team tournaments, only the team captain (or owner) can register the team. Team members must be part of the Squad.

Managing the Participant List

From your tournament's management page, you can:

  • Approve/Deny Registrations

Review pending registrations and accept or reject them.

  • Remove Participants

Remove a participant before the tournament starts or disqualify them during.

  • Reorder/Seed

Drag to reorder participants for manual seeding before bracket generation.

Check-in System

Enable check-in to ensure only active participants are included in your bracket.

How It Works

  1. Set a check-in window (e.g., 30 minutes before start)
  2. Participants receive a notification to check in
  3. They click "Check In" on the tournament page
  4. When check-in closes, unchecked participants are removed

Manual Check-in

As an organizer, you can manually check in participants who may have technical issues.

Tip

Check-in is highly recommended for online tournaments where no-shows are common. It ensures your bracket isn't filled with absent players.

Waitlist

When your tournament reaches max capacity, additional registrations are added to a waitlist.

  • Waitlisted participants are notified of their position
  • If a spot opens (withdrawal or no check-in), the next waitlisted player is promoted
  • You can manually promote waitlisted players at any time
